Looking through the various police reports of the last month I have noticed a large number of scams pop up, many of these are the result of too much information being made public on social media. Even locally, while it did not result in any scams, I witnessed a few profile cloning's. This is where a potential fraudster clones a social media profile and then sends friend requests to the FB Friends of the individual they are cloning. In some cases this is simply to gather information and to build online legitimacy.
